Beltane Blessings and Tarot Workshop

Happy Beltane,  Everyone !

It's the merry month of MAYA....
Time to renew vows of being true to your nature, both within and without. Sun, Mars
and Venus in Taurus say, be yourself, express your own light, it's why you were born.

"Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel
and kiss the ground."  ~ Rumi

Watch ! 1935 film clip of  'A Mid Summer Night's Dream'  mixed with
Lorena McKennitt's Mummer's Dance  - so lovely !

This year is special if you are on the east coast
of North America, because it's a 17 year
Cicada cycle... resurrection supreme !
"Cicadas were originally humans who, in ancient times,
allowed the first Muses to enchant them into singing and dancing
so long that they stopped eating and sleeping and actually
died without noticing it. The Muses rewarded them with the gift
of never needing food or sleep, but to sing from birth to death.
The task of the Cicadas is to watch humans to report who
honours the Muses and who does not."

17 is the STAR in Tarot - grace, renewal, self-esteem,
beauty, purity, cosmic intelligence, truth, forgiveness, awakening and freedom from false self/ego.

Oh soul,
you worry too much.
You have seen your own strength.
You have seen your own beauty.
You have seen golden wings.
Of anything less,
why do you worry ?
You are in truth
the soul, of the soul, of the soul.

~ Rumi

If there is light in the soul
There will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house,
There will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the World.

         ~ Chinese Proverb

"If you hear a voice within you say
'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint,
and that voice will be silenced."

 ~ Vincent Van Gogh

Tarot is an excellent medium for helping to access your inner truth.
If you are in Vancouver and would like to learn about Tarot,
I'll be putting on a workshop later this month:

MONDAY, MAY 27, 2013 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
48. + 1. membership fee

Most people are familiar with Tarot as a 'fortune telling' tool, but it is really
much more than that ! The cards may at first seem very mysterious - even
scary - but as we get to know them, we discover they provide helpful keys to
our personal, spiritual evolution. Rather than helping us foresee the future,
they can help with healing the past, so that we can make informed and clear
choices about our own journey. But we must first seek to understand their
underlying truths, before we can use them in a responsible way.

In this three hour beginner workshop, we will learn about the numerical
framework, singular meanings, but more importantly, the defining
relationships between the individual Tarot cards.

What to bring:
A Tarot Marseilles deck is recommended, as it contains essential information
within it's graphics and is the 'Mother' of all esoteric Tarot, but any traditional
deck based on it will do.  Also something to write on/with.

This workshop is a prerequisite to 2 more advanced workshops to follow,
if there are enough people interested.

Roxanna Bikadoroff is an intuitive artist who has been working with Tarot,
giving readings and writing about Tarot and Astrology for over a decade.
She also teaches illustration at Emily Carr University.
